Plumbing/Plumbing quote template
Bathroom rough-in quote template for Australian plumbers
A bathroom rough-in is split across two visits with other trades in between, so the quote has to be clear about what you do, when, and what the customer or builder supplies. Itemising it stops arguments about tapware and return visits.
Line items to include
- Labour for rough-in and fit-off (hours × your rate), or split into the two visits
- Hot and cold water pipe and fittings (for example PEX), as a lot
- Waste pipe and fittings, including moving the shower waste if the layout changes
- Shower mixer body and tap breeches
- Fit-off of toilet, vanity, shower and bath once tiling is done
Who supplies tapware and fixtures
Say whether tapware, the toilet suite, vanity and bath are customer supplied or included. If they're supplied by others, note that you'll fit them as long as they're on site and compatible with the rough-in.
Exclusions and sequencing
Waterproofing, tiling and carpentry are usually by others, and concrete cutting beyond the shower waste is a common exclusion. State that the price assumes other trades finish between your visits, and that extra trips caused by delays are charged by the hour.
Compliance, markup and GST
Note the pressure test and the compliance certificate your state requires. Enter pipe and fittings at cost and let your markup apply, so the customer sees one price per line. If you're registered for GST, show the ex-GST subtotal, GST at 10% and the total.

Common questions
Should rough-in and fit-off be quoted together?
Many plumbers quote both on one quote as two stages, so the customer sees the full price and when each part happens.
Does a rough-in quote include tapware?
Only if you list it. Otherwise state that tapware and fixtures are customer supplied.
Is waterproofing part of a plumber's bathroom quote?
Usually not. Waterproofing is normally done by a waterproofer or the tiler, so list it as an exclusion.
