Gutter replacement quote template (Australia)
Gutter replacement is a common job that customers often price on the phone. A quote that shows the lineal metres, the number of downpipes and what happens to the old gutters makes yours easy to say yes to.
Line items to include
- Gutter by the lineal metre, with profile and colour (for example Colorbond quad)
- Downpipes, with size and quantity
- Brackets, outlets, stop ends, rivets and sealant
- Removal and disposal of the old gutters and downpipes
- Labour (hours × your rate), or a price per lineal metre
Fascias, stormwater and falls
Say that falls will be set to outlets and water tested. Fascia replacement and below-ground stormwater repairs are common exclusions, and it's worth writing down that you've assumed the fascias are sound.
Height safety and licences
List the height safety you'll use, and include scaffold or edge protection as a line if the job needs it. Roof plumbing licensing varies by state, so put your licence number on the quote where your state requires one.
Showing materials markup and GST
Enter gutter, downpipes and fittings at cost and let your markup apply, so the customer sees one price per line. If you're registered for GST, show the ex-GST subtotal, GST at 10% and the total.

Common questions
Should I quote gutters per lineal metre?
A per-metre price is easy for customers to compare. Listing downpipes and removal separately makes changes simple to price.
Does a gutter quote include new fascias?
Usually not. List fascia replacement as an exclusion, or quote it as an option if you've seen damage.
Should downpipes connect to the stormwater?
Say whether you're connecting to existing stormwater and exclude below-ground repairs unless you're quoting them.
