Customers compare driveway quotes by the square metre, so a per-m² quote that says exactly what the rate includes is the easiest way to show you're not cutting corners on base, mesh or thickness.
Line items to include
- Excavation, levelling and removal of spoil, per m²
- The driveway itself per m², naming road base, formwork, mesh (for example SL72 on chairs), concrete strength and thickness (for example 100mm N25) and finish
- Saw-cut control joints
- Concrete pump, if access needs one
- Sealing, if you're including it
Say what your per-m² rate includes
A bare per-m² price invites comparisons with cheaper quotes that leave things out. Spell out the base depth, mesh, concrete strength, thickness and finish in the line description, so the customer is comparing like with like.
Exclusions and site checks
Common exclusions are rock excavation, council crossovers and footpath permits, and stormwater drainage unless listed. Note assumptions such as truck access within a set distance and diggable soil. Always check underground services with Before You Dig Australia before excavating.
Showing GST
If you're registered for GST, show the ex-GST subtotal, GST at 10% and the GST-inclusive total, so the per-m² rates on the quote match what the customer pays.
